DUNNVILLE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
DCS is a place where your child will be guided, nurtured and challenged to grow in their love for the Lord, for the world that He has created and given opportunities to demonstrate their growth in a variety of ways. We appreciate the time and effort that parents give in prayerfully considering Christian education for their children.
Established in 1958, DCS is rooted in, and continues to teach from, a Reformed perspective. Today, DCS welcomes and includes families from many different denominations, united in the pursuit of training God’s children.
What makes DCS a Christian school? We have Ontario certified teachers who are trained to teach from a Christian perspective with a Christian School Teacher’s Certificate. Our curriculum meets Ontario Ministry of Education standards, but is taught
through the foundational lens of Scripture.
We believe that Jesus is the reason we are a Christian school. It is not based on our goodness or ability, but what the Lord has done for us. Through His life, death and resurrection, Jesus Christ has made the way for us to be saved. It is our belief in the good news of Jesus Christ and complete reliance on this gospel truth that we seek to live out the call to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love others as ourselves.
As the body of Christ, we humbly accept the call to train up children in the fear of the Lord and to go and make disciples. Every day is full of opportunity to grow in our understanding and knowledge of God, His world, ourselves, and our role in God’s story of redemption and restoration. We pray together in class, we meet for chapel to sing and praise the Lord and we work on service projects to help in our community. We are learning to live a life of love each day to prepare us for a future with Christ for all eternity.

DCS is a member of Edvance Christian Schools Association. This membership provides many benefits in professional development, staff recruitment, volume purchasing, financial management, and general encouragement.
DCS is also a member of Christian Schools International. They provide faith-based curriculum resources and training.
Staff are members of Vocate, an affiliation that provides expert and professional employment services to build and foster healthy workplaces in Christian schools. Teachers apply for their Christian School Teacher Certificate (CSTC) through Vocate.
The Christian School Foundation pulls together experts in financial planning, tax law and estate planning to offer a range of inspiration, information and services to donors and their advisors so that gifts to the Christian school movement are received and managed in a stewardly and God-honouring way. It also works with its member schools to ensure that the stories of God’s faithfulness and blessing are collected and shared.
